With the popularity of smartphones, portable power banks, wearable devices, laptops, and industrial portable terminals, devices generally support multiple power supply scenarios such as external adapters, USB fast charging, and battery power. The traditional single power supply architecture can no longer meet the needs of seamless switching and low-power standby.
Power Mux IC can help devices better adapt to multiple power supply scenarios. They can not only prevent the device from power-off restart when switching power by plugging and unplugging, but also automatically plan the power supply priority reasonably to reduce battery cycling loss; at the same time, they integrate protection functions such as overvoltage, overcurrent, overheating, and reverse current, streamlining peripheral circuits and reducing the overall device size.
GLF Integrated Power has long specialized in power-path switching IC technologies. Leveraging years of accumulated design expertise, the company has launched the GLF4033, a new power-path switching IC with a flexible physical input selection mode. Through the S1 and S2 logic control pins, designers can conveniently select between VIN1 and VIN2, or disable both switches entirely, using straightforward peripheral and logic configurations.
GLF4033 has two sets of internal power control switches that do not interfere with each other. Both switches can ultimately connect to the same power output, allowing for smooth switching between two different power sources without causing power interruptions or stuttering.

GLF4033 features low on-resistance and each channel has a strong 4A continuous current handling capability. GLF4033 has a relatively wide input voltage range: 3V-13V, which can adapt to the voltage requirements of most small and medium-sized multi power devices. The device adopts advanced cross-conduction protection to actively prevent current flow between input sources, maintaining isolation regardless of which power supply is active. GLF4033 is ideal for power systems that require internal backup power.
GLF4033 can be applied to power systems with backup power, communication/network systems, security and tracking systems, such as cameras, small drones, walkie-talkies, locators, and other devices, providing more stable, safer, and more efficient power conversion management.
